Pop culture pack
The Endless Pop pack
Endless Pop gathers the general pop-culture questions: video games, music, animation, superheroes and the phenomena everybody grew up with.
Four families of questions
Endless Pop is the widest of the four packs. It goes well beyond screens, sweeping up everything a generation holds in common, from controllers to choruses.
- Video games: consoles, series, studios, playable characters.
- Music: bands, instruments, songs everyone has covered, genres.
- Animation and comics: studios, heroes, universes.
- Popular phenomena: shows, iconic objects, trends.
One question, 45 answers, six tiers
Take the question “Name a person who has served as President of the United States.”. The game recognizes 45 of them, and they are not worth the same.
Washington, Lincoln and Kennedy give you three starting points. To find another answer, think of a different period of history.
A less obvious name can take you deeper. The tier shown after your answer gives its exact value.
That is the whole game in a single question: knowing an answer is not enough, you need one the others would not have found.
The reflex that costs you
In pop culture, think of a different era or genre to find a less obvious answer that still fits the question.
With 25 seconds a question there is no time to build a list. The trick is not to search longer, it is to skip the first idea and give the second.
The pack holds 313 numbered games of 7 questions. They are not shuffled: each number keeps its draw, so a game picked up later serves exactly the same questions.
In pop culture the reflex is to name the absolute icon. That is exactly the answer worth the least. Reach for the one you would have said second.
