Frequently asked
KRILLION frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions people ask most: rules, price, ads, accounts, languages and devices. KRILLION is free to play, 3 games a day.
What is KRILLION?
KRILLION is a free guessing game played in the browser. One game has 7 questions of the form "name one of the N things in this set". Recognized answers earn points, and rarer answers score more.
Is KRILLION free?
Yes. You play 3 games a day without paying, and the first game of the day does not even need an account. To remove the limit and open every pack, you get a 15-day free trial for a first subscription, with an account, then $30.00 a year, that is $2.50 a month; $3.50 a month; or $29.90 once.
Are there ads on KRILLION?
No, none, on any page and for anyone: no ad banners, no video ads, no pop-up ads mid-game, whether you play for free or with paid access. No ad code is loaded and no ad network receives your data. The game is funded by paid access, which stays optional.
How many free games per day?
3 games a day, with no subscription, and the counter resets every day. The first game of the day is playable without an account.
Do I need an account to play?
Not to start: the first game of the day is playable without an account. The full 3 daily games then need a free account, and that first game counts towards the total.
How long does a game take?
About three to four minutes: 7 questions, with a 3 second preview and 25 seconds to answer each one.
How is the score calculated?
Every recognized answer falls into one of 6 rarity tiers, from 10 points for the most common answer to 100 points for the rarest. The maximum is 700 points per game. The game’s editors assign these tiers; they are not measured percentages of player answers.
Can I play trivia with friends?
Yes. Battle lets 2 to 50 players join a private room using the same code. Each player needs a free account. Friends answer the same questions live and compare their scores.
Why is my answer not recognized?
Check the exact condition in the question and the name you entered. If your answer is not recognized, try another answer before time runs out. Correct answers can have several common names, and some may still be missing.
What does the depth in metres mean?
Depth is the score converted into metres: 10 metres per point. A perfect game reaches 7,000 metres.
What is the Daily Dive?
It is the daily game, identical for every player. It is derived from the calendar date, so two people playing on the same day get exactly the same questions.
How much does access without the daily limit cost?
A 15-day free trial for a first subscription, with an account, then $30.00 a year, that is $2.50 a month; $3.50 a month; or $29.90 once. The access opened is the same in every case, and it stays attached to the account.
Is the game available in French?
Yes. KRILLION is available in English and French, questions included, and the language can be switched at any time with the EN / FR selector.
What happens if I make a typo?
Common variations are accepted: missing accents, capitals, a leading article, numbers written as words, and a single swap of two neighbouring letters. An answer that stays ambiguous between two different valid answers is not credited.
Which devices can I play on?
Any recent browser, on a phone, tablet or computer. There is no app to install.
Which themes are available?
4 free packs: pop culture, movies and TV, sport, geography. Together they hold 806 numbered games, playable in any order. Any paid access, whichever one, opens 4 more packs and 398 further games, and unlimited play starts with a 15-day free trial for a first subscription, with an account.
Is this the same site as krillion.io?
No. KRILLION at krillion.to is a separate game. This site is not published by krillion.io, is not an official version of it, and is not affiliated with it in any way. The offers differ too: 3 free games a day here against 1. On the paid side, their unlocks are sold separately; here, one paid access, starting with a 15-day free trial for a first subscription, with an account, then $30.00 a year, that is $2.50 a month; $3.50 a month; or $29.90 once. The comparison page states the dates and scope of the prices checked.
