Geography pack
The Around the World pack
Around the World covers the geography questions: countries, capitals, borders, languages, islands, rivers and peaks.
A map, not a list of capitals
Around the World goes well past capitals. Borders, seas, relief, currencies and memberships: as many ways of cutting up the same map.
- Countries and capitals across the five continents.
- Borders, enclaves and landlocked countries.
- Official languages and language areas.
- Islands, seas, rivers and summits.
The 19 recognized G20 answers
The question “Name a member country of the G20.” accepts 19 answers. Think across regions before choosing your answer.
The United States, China, France and Germany give you starting points. Look across several continents to expand your options.
Countries and organizations must meet the exact condition in the question. Their position on the map does not automatically determine their score.
Geography is the theme where the gap between what people know and what they say is widest. The scale lives in that gap.
Go down the list instead of up it
On a country question the names nearly always arrive in the same order: the largest, the nearest, the most talked about.
Move to another region in your mind to expand your options. Keep checking the condition in the question rather than choosing a country at random.
The pack holds 200 games of 7 questions and 25 seconds an answer. An answer accepted in either language counts the same: the catalogue carries both forms.
Think across different regions of the world. A less obvious country can score more, as long as it meets the condition in the question.
